About Lew

Artist Bio

Lew is a portrait artist and muralist from Washington, D.C., recognized for his grayscale realism. Using a mix of traditional and digital tools—pen, pencil, charcoal, acrylics, and digital media—he creates emotionally resonant portraits and murals rooted in culture and instinct. He doesn’t aim to evoke a specific feeling—only that the viewer feels something.

Artist Statement

My work is a reflection of the world around me, capturing moments of beauty, emotion, and introspection. Through my art, I aim to evoke a sense of wonder and contemplation in the viewer, inviting them to see the familiar in a new light.

Drawing inspiration from nature, everyday life, and the human experience, I strive to create pieces that spark connections and resonate on a deeper level. Whether through vibrant colors, intricate details, or subtle textures, each artwork tells a story, inviting the viewer to interpret and find their own meaning within it.

As an artist, I see my role as a facilitator of moments – moments of pause, moments of reflection, moments of joy. My hope is that through engaging with my art, people can experience a sense of connection to the world and to themselves.
