Lewis Guy Jr. (Lew) is a Washington, D.C.–based visual artist whose practice spans drawing, painting, and public art. His work is shaped by observation, introspection, and a desire to foster meaningful human connection.

As a first-generation American with Tanzanian and Ethiopian heritage, Lew incorporates Swahili into the titles of select works as a way of honoring his cultural roots. Although his work speaks to a broad audience, he remains especially committed to the African diaspora, particularly melanated youth growing up in communities like his own. Through his practice, he aims to lead by example and encourage others—especially the next generation—to see creative expression as a meaningful path forward.
